Set in Georgia, the play unfolds over a 25-year period, beginning in 1948. Daisy is initially hostile to Hoke, but despite seemingly insurmountable differences, their relationship blossoms into one of mutual respect and affection. The Compass Pride Business Alliance meets on Wednesday (generally the last; monthly) at a venue hosted by a Pride Business Alliance member. Monthly Socials provide an opportunity for the LGBTQ community and its allies to network, socialize, and promote business. Bring business cards; light refreshments are provided. Generally, 85-120 people attend in person. The fee is $25 for those who are not yet members of the Pride Business Alliance or active donors to Compass Community Center. For those who are members, the cost is $10. Onsite prices increase to $15 & $30 respectively.
