oin the Florida Commission on the Status of Women for a fun celebration of the Commission's first 30 years. Commissioners who served on the first Commission, back in 1991, will share their experiences and reflect on some of the major accomplishments of the organization over the years.

Join us for our Veterans Salute Celebration on Thursday, November 11th at 11:00 a.m. as we honor those who served and those currently serving in our armed forces. The ceremony will take place at Veterans Plaza Amphitheater (10500 N. Military Trail). Immediately following the ceremony, enjoy a concert featuring the Florida National Guard 13th Army Band.

The inaugural Jamaica Diaspora Southern USA (JADIAS) Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled for November 13 at the Signature Grand in Davie. Twelve stalwarts who have contributed to their adopted homes and Jamaica will be inducted. Most of the honorees including businessman Dr. Allan Cunningham, WAVS AM 1170’s Winsome Charlton, Reverend Horace Ward and attorney Marlon Hill are pillars of the South Florida Caribbean community. Cunningham is honorary chairman of the Southern Region which comprises 13 states.
