Events for 04/29/2024

This 24-month program provides the opportunity for the city to embark on efforts to close the racial gap in homeownership by revealing historical patterns of discrimination that may lead to racial inequalities. As of 2020, the homeownership rate for Black residents in West Palm Beach is still much lower than white homeownership rates at 40.3% compared to 56.7%. As a participant of Closing the Gap the city will identify and implement strategies to reduce these racial disparities in homeownership.

As you are well aware, we have just come out of a difficult legislative session, and the fight for our rights is far from over. Our communities are at stake, and it is imperative that we hold our elected officials accountable for their votes during the session.   We need to come together and take action to ensure that our voices are heard, and our rights are protected.
