SUMMARY:Closing the GAP\, a Florida Housing Coalition
DESCRIPTION:This 24-month program provides the opportunity for the city to embark on efforts to close the racial gap in homeownership by revealing historical patterns of discrimination that may lead to racial inequalities. As of 2020\, the homeownership rate for Black residents in West Palm Beach is still much lower than white homeownership rates at 40.3% compared to 56.7%. As a participant of Closing the Gap the city will identify and implement strategies to reduce these racial disparities in homeownership.

SUMMARY:Women Build
DESCRIPTION:I am honored to Co-Chair Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County Women Build 2024. \n  \n  \n  \nTogether\, we will change the lives of three families in Lake Worth Beach by completing new homes for them. The impact doesn’t stop there – we will also complete renovations on other homes in the same neighborhood. This effort not only focuses on building walls and roofs but also on creating safe spaces filled with hopes and dreams. \n  \n  \n  \nI participated last year and it was an incredibly moving and rewarding experience. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the families and work alongside them to construct their homes. As we worked together\, I learned more about each of them and their dreams. \n  \n  \n  \nWorking in the homebuilding industry\, I am acutely aware of the affordability crisis here in Palm Beach County and I am excited to help address it. Women Build is the perfect opportunity to give back and our collective efforts will transform the lives of deserving families by providing them with a place they can proudly call home.
