SUMMARY:Push it 5K
DESCRIPTION:Healthy Mothers\, Healthy Babies is partially funded by property tax through Children’s Services Council. Thank you\, residents! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Note from the CEO \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOctober marks the beginning of a new fiscal year for HMHB\, one of my favorite annual milestones for our agency. It’s a time for reflection on the past year\, a renewed commitment to our mission\, and an opportunity to set new goals for the future. \n  \nAs we enter the final months of our 40th anniversary year\, we have much to celebrate. This past year brought a record breaking Moments luncheon\, the launch of our first endowment\, community awards recognizing staff achievements\, new volunteers and funders\, enhancements across programs and operations\, and clean audits and accreditation renewals at the highest level. We embrace all the wins\, both large and small.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs one year closes and another begins\, this moment feels especially important. Across our community\, significant challenges demand our attention. We continue to navigate an ever-evolving maternal health landscape while also addressing a proposed property tax amendment that could drastically reduce funding for some of our community’s most effective and impactful programs. \nAt HMHB\, we believe every family deserves access to the support\, education\, and resources needed for a healthy perinatal period and birth. Fulfilling that mission requires more than direct service. It requires advocacy\, partnership and a strong voice in support of the programs and funding that make this work possible. \n  \nA reduction in property tax funding would have far-reaching consequences for our nonprofit community. Click here to learn more. \nOrganizations like HMHB rely on and partner with special taxing districts including Children’s Services Council to serve local families. CSC is a voter approved entity established in 1986 and was reaffirmed by voters in 2014\, demonstrating our community’s longstanding commitment to investing in children and families with a coordinated system of care. \n  \nHMHB is proud to be an entry point into that system\, connecting women and families to early and consistent perinatal care\, education and social support services. We are just one of hundreds of organizations working together to strengthen lives and improve outcomes across Palm Beach County. \n  \nWe encourage you to learn more about how HMHB is funded in part through your property taxes and to better understand the potential impact these proposed changes could have on services that thousands of families depend on every day. \n  \nA new fiscal year does not mean we slow down. It means we begin again with renewed purpose and determination. It is an opportunity to embrace new possibilities\, achieve meaningful outcomes and celebrate every success along the way. \n  \nOn behalf of our entire team\, thank you for being part of this journey. We are grateful for your support and look forward to continuing this important work together in the year ahead.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMichelle Gonzalez\, Chief Executive Officer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFiscal Year 2026-27 Executive Committee (left to right): \nAmber Bautz\, Secretary; Daniel Lehrhoff\, Vice Chair; Jeffrey Fine\, Chair; Allison Taylor\, Treasurer; Katrina Long-Robinson\, Immediate Past Chair \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPassing the Gavel \nWith deepest gratitude\, we thank Katrina Long-Robinson of Cornerstone Solutions who has served as Board Chair for the last two years. Katrina has led us as we created a new office space\, imagined new strategic goals\, grew our team\, and celebrated 40 years of service. Katrina is rolling into the Immediate Past Chair role\, and we are so grateful to her for sharing her time\, expertise\, and guidance with our community. \nAs of October 1\, Jeffrey Fine of iTHINK Financial has entered the position of Board Chair\, while Community Advocate\, Daniel Lehrhoff will serve as Vice Chair. Allison Taylor of Deloitte is stepping into the role of Treasurer\, while Amber Bautz is continuing her long-standing position as Secretary. These individuals have been outstanding advocates of our mission for years\, show a great understanding of our mission\, and consistently go above and beyond to bolster services for the families we serve. \nWe look forward to continuing our work\, improving our programs\, and growing our mission with these dynamic leaders at the helm of HMHB.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n40 Years and Running \nWe are less than two weeks away from our Push It 5K! \nPlease join us for this high-energy\, 80s themed event for everyone.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, October 17 \nRun starts at 7:30am \nOkeeheelee Park \nWest Palm Beach \nWhether you run\, walk\, or simply stop by for family-fun\, this event is about more than crossing the finish line. SUMMARY:Buddy Guy: Blues Royalty LIVE on Stage!
DESCRIPTION:At nearly 90 years old\, BUDDY GUY stands as one of the most influential guitarists in American music. As a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and a pioneer of Chicago’s explosive West Side sound\, BUDDY GUY remains a guiding force for generations of rock and blues legends. The nine-time GRAMMY® winner has also earned a Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY®\, 38 Blues Music Awards\, the Billboard Century Award\, the Presidential National Medal of Arts\, and the Kennedy Center Honor. Rolling Stone ranks him #23 on its list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time\,” underscoring his unmatched impact on modern music. \nBorn in 1936 to a sharecropper’s family in rural Louisiana\, Guy arrived in Chicago in 1957 and went on to reshape the sound of the electric guitar through groundbreaking work with Chess Records and influential recordings of his own. His recent achievements include a 2019 GRAMMY® win for The Blues Is Alive and Well and the acclaimed PBS American Masters documentary Buddy Guy: The Blues Chase the Blues Away. Today\, as he celebrates 90 years\, BUDDY GUY remains an American music icon—one of the last living architects of the electric blues tradition.
