SUMMARY:WPEAP Community Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs
DESCRIPTION:Program participants will benefit immensely from the Community Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs – a hands-on exposure to the fundamentals of launching and growing a successful venture. Taught by seasoned faculty\, subject matter experts and successful entrepreneurs\, the program occurs on six consecutive Saturday mornings from mid-August to mid-September 2026 from 8:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m.\, followed by a networking lunch. The bootcamp will be held at The Press Building\, 2751 South Dixie Highway\, in West Palm. This is an FSU West Palm collaboration space. \nTopics covered in the Community Bootcamp address all facets of a successful venture\, ranging from the development of a viable business concept to understanding your market\, designing your profit model\, setting up operations properly\, marketing your venture\, and understanding the basic numbers. Our underlying focus is how to think and act in entrepreneurial ways—including how to do more with less—and how to grow a venture when you have little in the way of resources. The approach will be interactive\, so participants will be encouraged to bring business ideas and challenges into the weekly discussions.

DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce the Fifteenth Annual Women of Color Empowerment Conference to take place September 11th – September 13th\, 2026\, at the beautiful Fort Lauderdale beach. \n\nOur theme this year is “Made for this Moment: Purpose\, Power & Progress.”  \n  \nOn September 11th\, there will be programming followed by a beautiful evening networking reception on Fort Lauderdale Beach (location to be announced.)  September 12th is our featured programming day\, which should not be missed.  On September 13th\, attendees will enjoy jazz and breakfast on Fort Lauderdale Beach.  The weekend will include renowned speakers\, thought-provoking presentations\, and networking with leaders throughout the state and nation.  Leaders will be present from a variety of professional sectors and industries\, including law\, government\, business\, technology\, not-for-profit\, medicine\, academia and more. \n​ \nIn past years\, the conference has drawn state and local leaders from all over the country and beyond. Past conference speakers have included: Award-winning journalist Tamron Hall\, CNN Commentator Angela Rye\, media mogul Cathy Hughes\, White House correspondent\, April Ryan\, Carla Hall from ‘The Chew”\, Trumpet Awards Founder Xernona Clayton\, Judy Smith\, noted crisis manager\, MSNBC’s Laura Coates\, former media executive Paula Madison\, television hosts Joy-Ann Reid\, Congresswoman Donna Edwards\, Judge Glenda Hatchett\, African Ancestry Founder Gina Paige\, Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy Quince\, and D.C.
