Closing the GAP, a Florida Housing Coalition

See Flyer

This 24-month program provides the opportunity for the city to embark on efforts to close the racial gap in homeownership by revealing historical patterns of discrimination that may lead to racial inequalities. As of 2020, the homeownership rate for Black residents in West Palm Beach is still much lower than white homeownership rates at 40.3% compared to 56.7%. As a participant of Closing the Gap the city will identify and implement strategies to reduce these racial disparities in homeownership.

We’re thrilled to once again sponsor the Black Gold Jubilee - Belle Glade, Florida, now in its 45th year! The event celebrates the harvests grown and produced from our unique muck soil, known as “Black Gold,” in the Everglades Agricultural Area of western Palm Beach County. From the parade and 5K/10K to the concerts, local food and more, the family-friendly event is one of our favorites of the year, and we hope to see you there!
