You’re Invited: Grand Opening of the Styx Promenade! Honoring the Past. Empowering the Future on August 1st.
The City of West Palm Beach and the CRA proudly invite you to the official Grand Opening of the Styx Promenade, a transformative project that celebrates the legacy of the Historic Northwest District while ushering in a new era of community and economic vitality.
The Styx Promenade is a $2.6 million revitalization effort inspired by the original Styx community—African American workers who were displaced from Palm Beach Island and resettled in Pleasant City. The project includes nine Shotgun-style structures, including a restored original home and eight new buildings thoughtfully designed to blend modern and traditional elements.
This historic initiative, designed by Alfonso Hernandez Architect and built by Hartnett Building Group, reflects community input and celebrates Black heritage, history, and entrepreneurship.
